Paris Overview

Paris: Is any city more closely associated with love and romance? Enjoy a relaxing tour on the Seine, then go all the way to the top of the Arc de Triomphe for a breathtaking view of the city. If it's romance you desire, Montmartre, away to the north on the tallest hill in the city, is the most unabashedly romantic district of Paris, with quiet stairways, little alleys, and deserted squares.

Paris has some of the best museums in the world. Discover treasures ranging from Picasso to Paleolithic carvings. You don't have to stay inside to enjoy the art: the city itself is a masterpiece, with architecture that inspires and celebrates the human spirit.

Whether you're enjoying a picnic by the Seine in the Square du Vert-Galant, sipping coffee in a sidewalk café, or treating yourself to the world's most elegant dining, you're sure to find something you love in Paris.

Groups are limited to 6 or fewer, and the price is moderate. Bicycle tours are also quite popular and can be arranged with little advance notice.

Hotel Pershing Hall

Hotel Pershing Hall is named after John Joseph Pershing, the commander in chief of American forces in World War I, who made the townhouse his headquarters. The charming cut-stone mansion, formerly the American Legion in Paris, has been reborn as a must-see site only three minutes from the Champs de Elysees.

The hotel has retained much of the building's history including fine wrought iron balconies with American Legion and US Army five star motifs and some wonderful cut stone eagles and military heads. The Pershing boasts everything from big, chic suites priced at 1,000 Euros ($925) to smaller more discreet rooms starting at 380 Euros ($350) featuring fine woods, old English bathroom fittings and high-tech choices like DVD and Internet connections. The hotel courtyard features a truly wonderful 30-metre-high vertical garden, with flowers and plants cascading down the wall.

Hungry guests will find 24-hour room service, a bar and a restaurant. The Pershing also includes conference facilities and a screening room for business travelers.

With only 26 rooms, six of them suites, guests will want to make reservations well in advance. The Hotel Pershing Hall promises to become one of the most popular hotels in Paris.

From Charles De Gaulle Airport: Take Highway A1 direction Paris, Porte de la Chapelle Exit, Boulevard Peripherique Quest up to Porte Maillot exit then Champs Elysees/Concorde. Once on the Champs Elysees make a right on Rue Pierre Charron.
